Tsumori Chisato in Paris

Tsumori Chisato is a well known name in the fashion industry. She studied fashion at the prestigious Bunka Fashion School in Tokyo. In 1977, she entered the Issey Miyake design company as the head designer for “Issey Sports”.  Later, she started her own line in 1990, a collection that made its catwalk debut in Tokyo at the Japan Fashion Week that same year.

Her work has been around for the last twenty five years.  This past September we had the chance of attending her Spring/Summer collection presentation at the  Eléphant Paname.

For starters, we knew the show would be something very cool.  The invitation alone was cute and foretelling of the event to occur.

Like a mermaid, the models appeared.  The net like material seemed to encase or enclose the models.

Prints and color were a staple.  The artistic prints and graphic work were very compelling.   With traces of embroidery work and concentric circles the collection was embellished.

Textiles that seem so comfortable.  Colors inviting and cuts that seemed yet so wearable, we found the collection very appealing for the style conscious  women that likes to keep things down to earth and yet make a stylistic decision on point.
