The New Romantics
The Awakening of Flora/ Le Réveil de Flore
Immortalized in Botticelli’s Primavera and Poussin’s Realm of Flora, the Goddess of Spring is celebrated by Ralph & Russo in a majestic collection that symbolizes nature’s regenerative powers.
Ralph & Russo enlist floral metamorphic myths as allegories of this collection. Acclaimed for its excellence in craftsmanship, this maison de couture inspires with bewitching embellishment.
The color palette is crisp and sophisticated, as if extracted from botanical gardens, the pomegranate color pops at you in the collection.
Sheaths of organza, a close-fitting dress caress the body tenderly and at the same time voluminous.
Fluidity was observed with the chiffons.
Fashion and tailoring spans four generations for Tamara Ralph, Creative Director. Prior to her graduation from Sydney’s Whitehouse Institute of Design, she was self-taught. Tamara’s aesthetic dwells in nostalgia for heyday elegance and glamour and a captivation for the female form. It was during a trip to London in 2003 that Tamara met fellow Australian Michael Russo, President & CEO.
Michael’s nous for business has propelled a number of his previous firms into highly desirable enterprises. His niche expertise saw him in high demand with financial institutions such as Barclays, Deutche Bank and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. In 2013, a remarkable 400% a year saw this real life couple make Fourtune Magazine’s ’40 under 40′ list, along with Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Yahoo!’s Marissa Mayer.
The dynamic duo’s next accolade was entry into fashion’s most coveted club, the Chamber Syndicale de la Haute Couture, making fashion history for Ralph & Russo as the first British label in almost a century to show on the official Paris Haute Couture Week schedule. The Channre Syndicale de la Haute Couture is the governing body that protects this French sector and determines to excruciating high criteria which labels may be eligible to become true couture houses.
