Backstage is where the magic takes place, there the models get to experience the team that working together will create the final look for the show.
Granted, the looks for the show are already predetermined and selected but now it’s the time that the work takes place and every single person works as a team to achieve the look.
Always committed to re-invention Christopher Raeburn introduces a collection in which he attempts to conquer the quest of utility and beauty. The duality of the two seem to merge in the latest installment of his creative concept.
Inspired by The dessert Boneyard in Arizona, he surrounded himself with the nirvana for the creed of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
Born in Notthingham, she studies illustration and animation at Kingston University.
During London Fashion Week Spring/Sumer 2015 we were able to cover backstage for some of the shows at Fashion Scout held at Freemasons Hall in London. Backstage is a totally different experience because you get to meet other creatives that help put together the shows. It was there, where we first saw Viviene Chan she was sketching away.
Her live sketches of the shows from backstage and some of the catwalk sketches as well.

A less common approach to fashion was the one utilized by designers Saif and Emma also known as CMMN.
The minimalistic approach and muted monochrome color palette was the talk of the town. One would expect bright colors and textures for what Spring/ Summer Collections would emphasize but instead we were presented with a clean and fresh approach to SS.
The collection manifested a very Swedish feel to it.
One can just imagine the Swedish summer on a floating boat and the breeze blowing through the textiles. The cool tones and a splash of freshness influence not only fashion but a lifestyle that many aspire to acquire.
Maria Grachvogel really does make the jumpsuit look sexy, the flow and volume of the jumpsuit pants and the fit on the upper body just talks to you in a certain way. It really puts an elegant look to the jumpsuit. The proportions just works wonders on the models features.

FAM IRVOLL Collection ‘Call the Exterminator’ was unveiled on Monday September 16th at the Prince Regent Room at Fashion Scout 2013.
The room was arranged in a way that displayed the models wearing the latest from Fam Irvoll collection in separate stations, the lighting was low and a mood of mystery was present.
As guests, admired the models at their respective units, the music played a quite usual tune for these kind of things; that was until the lights got darker and the music was accompanied by dancers. It was a Shocker to some of the guests, who were not anticipating the girl group to show up and dance to the “Exterminate” music and rattle the model’s enclosures and their disposition.
To a new beat and under a new light, things seem quite different, the juxtaposition of street culture and fashion can generate a very interesting combination.
Seeing at first, the clothes seem quite interesting, the prints, the choice of fabrics and the design, i.e the skirt and blazer seems quite street wearable for most of us, but who can keep their eyes away from the body wrapping dress, it seems like something for a music video where one can be the star.
Fam Irvoll likes to surprise, and this way to show her collection really surprised and dared the audience to take a closer look at her line. She dares us to look at her fabrics and the choices she has taken in the making process. A very open and powerful presentation.
Like the animals selected on the fabrics used for the collection, the models were exposed, surrounded and rattled by the ‘Exterminator’ performers. Sometimes, the methaphor is a powerful visual performance like this one, in which the critters/creatures turn out to be the objects of interest.
