
It’s the end of January, it’s cold as f*5% and I find myself in Copenhagen for the start of the AW 2017 season. I’ve never been to a Scandinavian or Nordic country before and this was my opportunity to give it a try.

Elaine Hersby AW18 is a colorful collection inspired by styles of contemporary house and hip hop dance. Creating moveable, wearable styles for women in constant flux.
The show ended with Leyla Piedayesh holding a sign declaring, “I’M AN IMMIGRANT”. Before I get into the political discussion of that, I want to rewind to the begin of the show. Oh, now that I think about it, you can’t even avoid politics when talking about this collection.
Copenhagen Fashion Week is a fashion week for industry professionals that is held twice a year in January/February and August. Copenhagen Fashion Week is one of the largest returning events in Denmark and by far the largest fashion week in the Nordic Region.
The focal points of Copenhagen Fashion Week are the fashion shows and the trade fairs, which attract buyers and press from all over the globe. The three fairs and 30-40 shows of Copenhagen Fashion Week exhibit collections from more than 2,500 Danish and international fashion brands, and each season they attract more that 30,000 visitors.
In addition to this, the social schedule contains more than 100 other events, ranging from parties to exhibitions and showrooms.
Today we will share two brands that shine as bright as a new Nova on the night sky, they are the new cluster of designers called Future of Fashion who are bringing new ideas into solid designs. Also a well known and always admired name in the fashion world is HENRIK VIBSKOV, who needs no introduction besides a few of his latest works to define the level of artistic and innovative creative genius whose creations merge into a different dimension.
Briefly some of the highlights of CFW. Menswear takes center stage. #Tonsure the winner of the award DANSK Design Talent – Magasin Prisen.
The duo behind Tonsure consists of Malte Flagstad, a Central Saint Martins graduate and former menswear designer at the Parisian fashion house Maison Margiela, and Adam El-Zayat Hjort, former Henrik Vibskov Boutique Store Manager.
With such a talented team it’s not a surprise that Tonsure offers us a diverse menswear label with a distinct expression.

With materials suited for the Autumn/Winter season, the collection opened up Copenhagen Fashion Week with a fresh menswear option.
Designer Doris Kath Chan makes her return to Copenhagen Fashion Week for Hong Kong Fashion. Along with designer Kenax Leung and Lulu Cheung the three Hong Kong designers showcased their collections during the Copenhagen Fashion week and CIFF Copenhagen International Fashion Fair.
Asger Juel Larsen is a designer that marks and merits the adventurous and rule breaking reinvention of modern menswear.
