ORIGIN: The designers come from Yorkshire, Leicester and London respectively.
SIBLING launched on May 29th 2008 born out of a desire to give knitwear for men a good old fashioned shake-up with cartoon ka-pows of colour and bams of very English humour.

SIGNATURES:“Colourful, well-made, luxury knitwear for a man bored with the grey V-neck option.”

IDEAL CLIENT: “A man of any age with a sense of humour as defined in his sense of fashion.”

TRADEMARK PIECE: “If it were a popularity contest, it would be a fight between the Knit Monster and the printed Knitted Biker. Knit Monster probably wins although we do produce a version of both a biker jacket and a fair isle most seasons. As a signature look, it’s probably a punked-up fair isle scarf under a knitted biker.”

THE COLLECTION: “Westside Story, the fact that we celebrate our 5th birthday and what that means to us, New York, the artist Richard Woods ( and building on the masculine knitted sportswear aesthetic of previous seasons.”

IMPACT OF LONDON COLLECTIONS: MEN: “We were waiting to move from presentations and short films to catwalk but never felt that the audience was there before. Now with London Collection: Men they are, and we had our first ever catwalk show in June 2011 with incredible response so we were glad we were patient. Our press also hit a much more diverse public and this then reflected on sales with buyers buying with renewed confidence. LCM was the perfect time to showcase our new, bigger silhouette on offer; something new for the new initiative. We are very proud to be amongst the founders.”

FIRST PIECE OF MENSWEAR DESIGNED: “It would have been two items. The first, a knitted biker knitted in-house and printed to look like leather – boy did that confuse people! The second, a ‘sequin tiny leopard’, neon pink and orange sequins on biscuit cashmere bases. Both pieces are now classic items within our lines.”
