RIRI from Japan a new talent in R&B music

A young woman with a beautiful voice has captivated the attention of the music scene at SXSW. The Japan Nite event held at the Elysium Austin was a success. The show opened and Riri showed us what talent looks like.

After the music preview, we had a one on one talk with Riri about her music inspiration.  We wanted to know how she got started on the music business and how does she like composing her own songs.

Riri seems to know what exactly she likes composing and don’t let her age fool you.  At barely 17 years old, she is a season ahead of the game. At the age of 4 years old, she was inspired to sing R&B/Soul music, listening to Destiny’s Child, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, and Whitney Houston.

In 2011 she was chosen as a finalist for Next Generation Star auditions hosted by David Foster. The following year she won The Dream Support Project Award, where she flew to New York City for her first performance in the US.
