Masayuki Ino for Doublet named as the recipient of the 2018 LVMH Prize.

The jury of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers that includes eight artistic directors from Houses of the LVMH group – J.W. Anderson (Loewe), Maria Grazia Chiuri (Dior), Nicolas Ghesquière (Louis Vuitton), Marc Jacobs (Marc Jacobs), Clare Waight Keller (Givenchy), Karl Lagerfeld (Fendi), Humberto Leon and Carol Lim (Kenzo) – as well as Delphine Arnault (Executive Vice-President of Louis Vuitton), Jean-Paul Claverie (advisor to Bernard Arnault) and Sidney Toledano (Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LVMH Fashion Group), have named Masayuki Ino for Doublet as the recipient of the 2018 LVMH Prize.

Masayuki Ino is a designer like no other, his designs are not just created to produce a collection but they are more like a work of contemporary art.  He says he draws his inspirations from things and events around him.  It’s amazing how an everyday fabric or texture takes a life of its own when Masayuki puts his touch on it.  He creates something new, like no other.  We met with him a while back and interview him about his designs back in 2015.  In restrospective he was not only ahead of the curb, his game was always top notch.
