Couture Days- Paris Summer 17/18

Staff By Posted on

Couture week is still alive and designers choose this time to showcase their collections.  For many people the idea of Couture may seem dated or snobbish but for a  segment of the population the appeal of made-to- measured gowns is still thriving.

Fast fashion seems to dominate the daily lifes of many of us but in the scheme of things, there is also the need for couture or beespoke.   From the standpoint of many fashion houses that have survived recession and economic down turns in the past decades, the need for couture is not just implicit but also part of their DNA and to let go of something as ingrained in their composition would be suicidal.

It’s not just the grand appeal of the luxurious gowns and the intricate detail tailoring but also the world’s laboratory where fashion is created and prototyped.  From those designs, many more iterations would be created.

Below you’ll see some of the collections.
