Ada + Nick

Rebellious British menswear brand Ada+Nick closed the first full day of London Collections: Men AW15 with their runway show ‘Noir Desir’

Ada+Nick has been described as “the most refreshing new menswear brand to emerge in recent years”, the brand still young and evolving it’s definitely  “ones to watch” and it’s in “the future of menswear”.

Their AW15/16  ‘Noir Desir’ collection embodies the darkest desires of the twentieth century gladiator, reflecting an evolution of the brand’s signature outwear including ,Italian leather, geometric bombers and longline coats referencing the notion of Greco Roman meets 1970 British Punk culture.

Items are reformed into experimental shapes offset by layered velvet sneaker net, showerproof tech fabrics, crease free memory cotton, sustainably intelligent cotton ribs and luxury airtex. All of those who form the nucleus of the collection.  Embossed graphics for the ‘Grunk’ are by illustrator Sam Alexander.

The unveiling was synchronized with the premiere of the film  ‘Noir Desir’ by Haus of Magdalen and Ada+Nick, starting Asher Flowers, Lucas Valerdi, Serghinio Wooter, Alex Santos and Charlie Aprahamian with visuals by Ljubba.

Among the new hot items/gadgets was the wearable tech unveiled by the ‘Narrative Jacket’ the world’s first leather jacket with in-built camera, in collaboration with the Narrative Clip to capture photos and location data without conscious interaction, truly breaking the fourth wall in the art go storytelling for the first time.  Perhaps, something intrinsic to the brand Ada+Nick, catering to a metro-techno hype beast fan base.    Ada+Nick also featured Moto360 timepieces from Motorola on the wrists of the models.

If that was not enough, the brand Ada+Nick with a high corporate social responsibility teamed up with Holloway Prison and London College of Fashion LCF to produce a piece in The Ministry of Justice’s workshop within Holloway Prison.  Ada+Nick hope that the program will give this small group of inmates a better chance of rehabilitation when they’re released.  Forgiveness and redemption was not just a theme but a topic when it comes to this young duo of talented designers.
